Cornwall - A Photographer’s Paradise
Cornwall's coastline is one of the most scenic and dramatic landscapes in the British Isles. Bustling with coastal villages and hidden coves it plays host to some varied wildlife and stunning photography locations.
As well as visiting some of the most iconic locations in the region, such as the dramatically situated Botallack tin mines (made famous in the TV series Poldark) and the spectacular scenery found at Landsend, we will also be exploring some of the beautiful secluded little coves dotted around the coastline. Together we will discover the beauty of Cot Valley and the wonderful cove at Porth Nanven, known for its giant and unique egg-shaped stones.
I will show you how I use COKIN Filters to dramatically help the proper exposure of images the first time. Along with tips on how to create creative long exposures.
We can even grab a pasty or two along the way and maybe sample a Cornish cream tea on your photography adventure around the Cornish coastline.
Porth Nanven
During the 3 days, I’ll be teaching various techniques and methods of work including landscape composition – using lead-in lines, rule of thirds, also the use of ND filters and Graduation filters.

Our workshops are run for both beginners or advanced photographers or any skill level in-between, in one of the most beautiful parts of England surrounded by stunning landscape and seascapes. INSURANCE
It is a good idea for you to have your own insurance but not essential, Ian Mayou Photography assumes no liability for any act, error, omission, injury, loss damage to any persons or property arising from any cause during the workshop, or transit to or from locations.
Each client must accept that there is always an element of risk in outdoor photography workshops and it is always up to them to be aware of risks relating to weather, tides, and walking around the landscape.
We always aim to capture a sunrise or sunset image on each day and with Cornwall's light this usually is a dramatic occasion. The itinerary is flexible so as to provide great photographic opportunities no matter what the weather.
Whether you need artistic or technical support, I will be on hand every step of the way to help you achieve the images you want to capture. The workshop group is kept small to maximize tuition and allow us flexibility to move around locations. There will also be opportunities throughout the workshop to review your images and go through processing workflows.
